The challenge

Oliehoorn has been a beloved brand in the Netherlands for over 40 years, with a strong position in retail and hospitality. Producing over 12,000 kilos of mayonnaise and curry per hour, it’s not only a major player but also the most sustainable one with the B Corp certification. In a market dominated by large players, creating interaction and a preferred position with target audiences is not a given. Oliehoorn grew through retail and hospitality but had little direct interaction with end users. The ambition is to be less dependent on the shelf and to build direct relationships, community, and own channels.

The solution

We developed a digital platform as a channel for interaction and growth. Not as a standalone website, but as an integrated part of a broader digital ecosystem where brand, process, and technology converge. With a clear division between B2B and B2C, we create a personally relevant experience. From inspiration and community for consumers to functional flows for professionals. Through smart integrations, like automatic nutrition and allergen information and e-commerce, there’s a scalable infrastructure where direct sales are also possible. Oliehoorn has transitioned from a brand primarily selling through shelves and the hospitality industry to one with direct digital impact. With a scalable platform as its foundation, there is now room for structural growth in both B2B and B2C. The combination of brand experience, e-commerce, and smart integrations leads to more interaction, better data control, and a direct channel with the target audience.
